We begin with a complimentary online or phone session with the young person, parent or together. I will explain the career coaching process and clarify your goals and expectations. If you think it is a good fit for you and would like to proceed, we will make a time to start our sessions together.
Using the powerful My Career Coach Program, I will guide you through the five steps of POWER Coaching to create a personalised life and career pathway plan from the inside-out. Your plan will be stored on your own online goal tracker where you can revisit and reset your goals again and again over four years.
The plan can be completed over 2 x 1.5 hour sessions.
Step 1. P = Imagine Possibilities for Life and Work
I will take you on a journey of self discovery where you will complete a “Who am I?” personal profile. I will help you identify your life motivators, personality type, key qualities, educational goals, top skills, interests, hobbies, lifestyle and work style preferences. Then create an inspiring vision for your life and identify career options that would be a great match for you.
Step 2. O = Become Organised and make a plan
I will then guide you to design a wish list of the life and career goals you would love to achieve in the short, medium and long term. Your goals will give you hope and motivation for your future and provide a road map to create your best life. If you have some goals that inspire you you are half way there.
Step 3. W = Develop Willpower and motivation
Achieving goals takes effort. So together we will weigh up the costs and the benefits to determine if the goals you have set are worth striving for. This process serves as a reality check, with a focus on building your commitment and the motivation they will need to be successful.
Step 4. E = Build your Emotional Skills
We know that people with strong emotional skills are likely to be more successful. You will identify your emotional strengths and support to develop the “can-do” attitudes, resilience and confidence you need to overcome obstacles and move ahead. we will also identify your support team.
Step 5. R = Achieve Results by taking action
To finish your life and career pathway plan, you will identify a few S.M.A.R.T steps that you can take immediately to get you started on your journey.
Your completed plan can then act as a guide for future coaching conversations with me, your parent or for yourself
After your personalised career coaching plan has been completed, we can continue to meet to help you stay focused, motivated and committed to your goals. In our regular sessions we will review your progress, address any challenges and celebrate your achievements. The duration and frequency of our sessions are flexible depending on your needs.
