Coaching is future-focused, whereas counseling often addresses past experiences and healing. Coaching is ideal if you’re looking to improve performance, develop specific skills, or work toward personal or professional goals. Counselling is recommended if you’re dealing with emotional struggles, trauma, or mental health issues that require therapeutic intervention.
While coaching can support mental well-being by building confidence and overcoming obstacles, it is not a replacement for therapy or counselling. If you are dealing with clinical mental health issues, counselling or therapy with a licensed professional is recommended.
Yes, in most cases, coaching and counselling can complement each other. For example, a person might work with a counselor to address emotional or psychological concerns and then seek a coach for goal-setting and personal development.
I deliver coaching services to suit the needs of my clients. I coach face to face in my office, in your home or online as appropriate. I also offer walk and talk coaching with my dog freckle. Plus coaching workshops at different locations, in schools and online.
